Hune, North Jutland, Denmark

Can’t overlook the local runestone.

In the area of Hune, we know of a rune stone that can be dated to this particular period. The one and a half meter high stone stands in Hune Church not far from the excavation and bears the text: “Hove, Thorkild, Thorbjørn put their father Runulv den Raadnildes sten”. It is dated to 970-1020.
