Casting the Runes

Here are three forms of casting runes specifically for the Elder Futhark:

  1. Odin’s Draw: This is a simple form of rune casting with the Elder Futhark. You draw a single rune from the bag and meditate on its meaning. This method is often used for gaining insight into a specific question or situation.
  2. Norns’ Spread: This method involves drawing three runes from the bag. The first rune represents the past (what has been), the second represents the present (what is becoming), and the third represents the future (what shall be). This spread can provide a detailed understanding of the progression of a situation.
  3. The Nine Worlds Spread: This is a more complex form of rune casting. It involves drawing nine runes and placing them in a grid of three rows and three columns. Each row represents one of the three realms (Upper, Middle, Lower) and each column represents a different aspect of the situation (Overview, Challenge, Resolution). This spread can provide a comprehensive overview of a situation.

Remember, interpreting runes requires intuition and an understanding of the symbols. The Elder Futhark, being the oldest form of the runic alphabets, has deep historical and cultural significance, so it’s always a good idea to spend some time studying the meanings of these runes before attempting to interpret them.
